LAPD Foothill Station Jr. Cadet Graduation

Dec 4, 2017

LAPD Jr. Cadets at the Foothill station in Pacioma graduated from their cadet program November 30th. The Jr. Cadet program is similar to the Cadet program, but it is designed for children aged 8 through 12 years. The program allows children to participate in activities that instill a sense of community pride, self-discipline and leadership ability in an overall positive environment.

The Happy House Good Choices® program has been integrated by LAPD officers at Foothill into their Jr. Cadet program.

The twenty-six Jr. Cadets were presented with their completion certificates by Happy House Founder, Nancy Cartwright.

This is now the third year that the Good Choices program has been operating at the Foothill station, with enthusiastic participation by both the LAPD officers administering as well as the Jr. Cadets.

“Being in the Jr. Cadet Program has really helped me to treat my family with respect and to value everyone. It helped to keep my promises, to be more organized and to understand a little more what it would to be like to be a police officer.” M.D. age 11
