She is known in the non-profit world as a generous and active philanthropist who gives of her time, energy and resources equally. Nancy loves what she does on The Simpsons, however she sees it as a means that fortunately allows her to broadly help children. She is very proud of her role as the co-founder of Happy House, a non-profit organization that strives to build better families. Happy House developed the unique and proven character-building program, How to Make Good Choices. Delivered in schools and in after-school and summer programs staff and volunteers have helped hundreds of youths throughout the state of California, other areas of the United States and abroad. Through events hosted at her home and with her personal support, funds have been raised to help to build a youth center for Devonshire PALS (Police Activities League Supporters) and to support Happy House chapters and activities.

Other charities that Nancy actively supports are Famous Fone Friends and Make-A-Wish Foundation, to name a few.  For the latter, she received their highest honor, the Wish Icon Award in 2007. She is equally committed to helping those in her hometown in Ohio, where she returns to do fundraisers for Project READ and where she has established a perpetual scholarship for forensic students to attend Ohio University.
