Happy House Joins Kiwanis of Northridge

Jun 17, 2013

Thanks to our good friend Richard Leyden, who never gives up!, Happy House has joined the Kiwanis Club as a new corporate member.

Every time one of our staff ran across Richard, who is the new members in charge, he would hand over a flyer inviting us to a free lunch to see what the Kiwanis Club was all about. Finally, out of true curiosity, we went to a meeting and saw right away that this was a gathering of real doers and kindred spirits.

The mission of the Kiwanis Club is to help children, one child at a time and that is the Happy House mission as well. We both want to build better families and, in a very similar way, help create a Good Choices Generation. The Kiwanis Club does this by identifying groups that are helping children in the community in a variety of ways that capture the arts, physical fitness, community involvement and leadership and helping them with willing hands and funds. They give these children some tools to succeed.

We at Happy House help children through our Good Choices Program which gives them the tools to make positive choices for themselves, their families and groups.

“We feel that we are part of a family with Kiwanis,” said Nancy. “They work so hard and really get their finger nails dirty getting in there and working. Definitely a good choice on our part!

The Happy House staff are enjoying working with the Kiwanis Club of Northridge helping children in the area and look forward to much more co-action!!!
